Title: Aggressive Gourami
Post by: LordVaradox on February 18, 2008, 07:03:33 AM
Well my 2 Golden Gouramis(Trichogaster Trichopterus) are good with other fish, but I bought 2 males by accident. So now I am going to separate them. The question is should I take put the more aggressive one or take out the 1 that is being beat up. There both good with other fish(Black Neons and Albino Corys).

Which tank are they in? If you have room you could buy 3 or 4 more to spread the aggression out. Where will you put the GG if you move it?

Its a 29 long, most likely in my 20 long quarantine until I can get a permanent home.

I would definitely not buy any more.  It would make things worse, not better.

Remove the one who is beat up and put it in your 20 long by itself.  That will give it a chance to de-stress and heal up.  The aggressive one should calm down once his competition is gone.  29 gallons just isn't a lot of territory for Gold Gouramis to share.
