Title: Black Finned Tetra in 10 gal
Post by: Jared Buchholz on February 10, 2009, 03:04:26 PM
In my second ten gallon, which is empty, save for my feeder snails, I have a lone Black( - ?) Finned tetra. How many of these bad lads would you put in there if you were me? I was thinking three or four, I am not sure though so I am running it by the people who do know.

Do you mean Black Skirt tetras?
if so they are a bit too big and active for a 10 gallon so you should try to put it into a bigger tank.

I don't think any should go in that tank. I have 8 in my 75g and really second guess whether I have the room for any more. 10g are really small tanks, and have a very limited variety of fish that can lead healthy, natural lives in there.
Unless you like the ideals of housing pets in too small of confines, which if that is the case.....
LOL.
Plus, schooling fish should not be with less than at least 6 others of the same species.
