Anyone good at identifying african cichlids? Grabbed this big mama from the pet store, she was holding 78 fry and seems to be some type of mbuna. In the natural light her fins look fairly yellow, and she seems to have faint stripes down her side. She is at least five inches long. We are just curious what she might be, we know Africans crossbreed.

Wow, that looks almost exactly like big mama!!! Thank you, you rock! Kiddo recently rescued 56 fish (most were Africans) and donated all but ten. The big dude he kept has taken big mama as his girl, and she is full of eggs again! Any ideas on what big dude could be? Kiddo thinks he MIT be dogtooth, but he's a solid 6 inches long and has a really thick lower lip. He had questions about a few other fish, but a friend told him they are vc10s and that seemed right on.
