Title: What's going on with this fin? Longfin Black Skirt tetra needs help
Post by: willingtolearn on November 09, 2017, 12:50:11 PM
I don't know how well you can see it in the picture, but about halfway along the top spine of his tail fin, it looks like there's a break, and the back half kind of trails behind. Is there anything I can do?

I'm not sure if my monitor is good enough for me to see everything on your photo, but warm, clean water will help him heal. However you will have to eliminate the reason his fin came to be that way!
Could he have damaged his fin on any decoration/plastic plants?
Is it a result of fish fighting?
Meanwhile you need to keep an eye out for any infections that might compromise the healing. Fin rot might take the opportunity to settle in. Fin rot can be fungal, or bacterial!
