Title: Back in the Game
Post by: cymruglenn on July 09, 2018, 08:09:09 AM
Hi all,

It's been around 3.5 years since I was last on here when I had 3 tanks on the go. Loved all the great advise and the good people on here then,
I do hope it hasn't changed much!!

To cut a long story very short, Sh1t happened and I couldnt have my beautiful tanks anymore 1 x55gal 1x20gal and 1x10gal............

Just got myself a new Jewel Trigon 190 and am so looking forward to getting back in the game.

All the best
Glenn

Welcome back cymruglenn and Dylan. I just recently checked back in myself.

I've been stalking the monster fish site, because its very active, and I have dreams of a 300G+ aquarium. Just moved into my new house and still need to move the 120G from my old house. The fish will be getting moved into a 50G this weekend so I can drain the 120G and move it. I may take this opportunity to reseal it. (Not sure if I'm will to commit to it.) The 120G is about 10 yrs old now and the seems have some wear from scrubbing the algae off of them over the years. Wish I could get the 300G now, but I don't have the funds. The process of buying and selling, between both houses, has taken my aquarium funds.

Wow, as beautiful as a 300+ Gallon would be, I could still only imagine having a 120 lol I'm stuck with a 10g and soon a 20 long for now lol. it is truly not a cheap hobby, but what is? :proud: I recently got into vinyl and now I'm always torn between spending extra cash on records and equipment or fish stuff  :crying:

Wow 300G would be a big unit!!!
Would take some time to do water changes>>>>

What would you stock in a 300G?

The options!!!!!

I have a school of 24 Cardinal Tetras in my 50G and tey look amazing!! I'm thinking many different schools of Tetras for a 300+

If and when the day comes my initial thoughts for stocking are:
Tinfoils - (I have these now and love them. Love the tinfoil bump.)
Bala sharks - (Spastic)
Severums - (Great personality fish)
Flagtail Prochilodus (Probably just 1. They do well if kept as 1 or as many. They don't do well if kept as 2 or a few.)
Pleco's off a few flavors. TBD.
Maybe some loaches, but worried they may get eaten when the flagtail reaches full size.
There are so many options!

I may consider a constant drip system for water changes.

Filtering is at a new level and I have alot of research to do still. Plus I have to start saving again.  :11574:
