Author Topic: Betta choking on water????  (Read 4318 times)

I thought I'd post this because both of my male bettas seem to do this quite often. They'll come up to the surface to catch some air and then go back down and then their heads will start nodding up and down as if sneezing and little bubbles start coming out the side where the gills would be.  Is this normal behavior to a betta????

bettas are ambatanids and need to breath some surface air. the bubbles I think would be normal as well.
how big your tank and what are the conditions?

I have a 2.5 gal. tank with a heater and a Tetra Whisper filter and  use Stress Coat with every water change.
