Author Topic: Advice needed on Pictus Catfish!  (Read 2100 times)
« on: January 25, 2008, 07:10:25 PM »

Hi everyone,

I recently bought my tank and added two pictus catfish to it, so far they are doing well - I have been feeding them bloodworms, jellied daphnia and pellets and flakes. But I really don't know any other requirements that they need. I bought the tank specially for them so I won't be moving any other fish in. Would be grateful for any advice that all you guys could give me.

Thanks a lot!

Just make sure they have some decent hiding places, watch them very closely for ich, and don't make any rapid changes in water chemistry.
Pictus are very succeptable to ich, and it is additionally close to impossible to see ich on a hyperspeed white catfish. Any unusual behavior should be investigated thouroughly.

They do like some live treats now and then. I use snails, Ghost shrimp, and occasionally feeder guppies (Only guppies I use are raised by me).
