Yikes! I have seen the congo tetra at my LFS and I confess I have not seen anything quite so beautiful before. I have done a little preliminary research, and I think they would generally fit my set-up, but I would not have room for 6 of them. (but maybe the 3 I saw in the store tank.)

I currently have a 29 gallon tank with 7 Diamond Tetras (also lovely, not to offend them), 7 albino cory cats, a bristlenose pleco, and one siamese (yes, it's a siamese) algae eater. My set-up is reasonably established - I have had all of my fish except for the Siamese Algae Eater for about a year and half. I am thinking of adding a couple of buddies to my Diamond tetra school again, but on the way I saw the Congos. Would anyone like to talk me out of it?  fish13

Yes, you've got enough in that tank and/or if you can't do more than 3, don't do it at all. Smiley  Congo's get large and would fare better in a longer, larger tank.

(Sigh.) It is our lot, is it not, to forever want more than we can have. Meanwhile my little tank is stable and beautiful. I'd best not mess it up. Thanks for the cold water.
