I am thinking of getting a single honey Gourami to go with a few schools of small community fish (Dwarf Rainbowfish, Rasboras and Rummynose Tetras).  Will the Gourami be happy and do better alone?  I am looking for a "centerpiece" fish and was thinking about either a single Gourami or Angelfish but I want to make sure their happy alone.

I found my boy liked the interaction of other fish. he seemed to enjoy chasing them from his home, and having somewhere and someone to protect it all from.

i have never kept angel's so i am biased, but gourami's are awesome.

on another note, please don't tack your questions onto other peoples threads, your questions will get answered faster if you make your own thread Smiley

I have a single gourami in one tank and a single angel in another.  Both are perfectly fine as the only one of their kind in the tank.  I would worry about the rummynose tetras and a full grown angel, though.  They might end up as dinner.  Go with the gourami.  April is right, they are pretty awesome.   Smiley
