i have some new red cherry shrimp that are really little, about a quarter of an inch.  i was planning on putting them in my growout tank, but the angel babies are being parent raised, so i'm afraid the parents will eat the shrimp.  in the future i'm going to get a 20g high for parent raising and leave the 29g for growout and shrimp.  but for now, i need to know if i put 12 little red cherries in a well planted 55g with zebra loaches, rummy-nosed tetras, and otos, if they stand a chance of survival.  right now they are in a gallon jar that i'm changing the water in every day.

They might. I'd be the most concerned about the tetras. The otos will pretty much ignore them. I'm not a loach person, so I couldn't vouch for those. Do you have one of those crappy breeder nets you could put in the 55 for the shrimp?

oh i don't, but that's a good idea.  the tetras are kind of idiots, although they are hungry idiots.  the loaches were the ones i was most worried about since i know they have a penchant for snails.
