My 14 gallon tank is a constant home for brown algae.. while my other tanks, not even a speck of it.  Could it be the lightbulbs?

diatoms like low light conditions. you could increase light if you'd like, but you might get an increase in other algae or you could just keep wiping the diatoms off...they will eventually go bye-bye

If it's not overstocked, a few Oto's will make a feast of the brown algae.

If not, elbowgrease is the way to go with brown.

thanks, its just a snail tank (for feeding my puffers) but i'm thinking i might pick some fish up for it today..i have to go do a water change first though
