So close no matter how far

Okay, the ad for my 55 gallon setup is down to two women.  Normally I would just let the first one that responded have it, and still will, but wanted to ask...  She wants it for her son's red ear slider.  I would think that a 40 or even 30 gallon breeder would be more suitable for a turtle than a standard 55 gallon which is only 13 inches wide and 20 inches high...  I'm not going to tell her what to do but maybe gently recommend that she look for a different setup for her needs...?  But I wanted to check with the experts first.  It's been ages since I kept water based turtles and I know I didn't do the right thing by them then.  Thanks!
Take care,
