how big of a tank do you have, oscars are very aggressive and get huge, one will not even fit in a 55

Start with juvenile Oscars and you should be OK with clown loaches as tankmates.  If you start to see serious aggression during growout then separate.  I have had no problem with aggression from my Oscar toward any tankmates other then the Longnose Gar.  This aggression is in the form of stealing live feeder goldfish from the Gars jaws during repositioning it for swallowing.  Likewise the Gar has shown no aggression to the other tankmates other then biting the Oscar's face during food battles!

I have at times housed Clown Knife, Channel Cats, Snook, Convicts, Severum & Kirin Cichlids with it.

How big of a tank is this for? Tank size goes a long way when it comes to determining tank mates.
