Hi,  I give advice about my passion (plecos) but find myself in a bit of a conundrum ...

As in a earlier post, am upgrading my 15G tank to 30G tomorrow (or Weds) will be moving the Betta, ADF and clown plec to it ASAP.  When all is settled I will be looking at moving my Green Phantom plec to this tank too.

Would glowlight tetra's be ok in this tank with this stock?

Cheers

Hi redfan, I'm still kind of a newbie myself, but I think the tetras may be too quick for your Betta. He may feel stressed by their quick movements and could become quite unfriendly towards them. Maybe you could have another tank at the ready should they need to be separated?!

Someone who has been in this hobby longer will surely come by shortly, and be of more help to you.  Smiley

TBH and sure she don't mind me mentioning it here, I am going to be taking Ruthy's glowlights soon.  My original plan was to put them in this new 30G tank.  If it does not work out, then they could join my ever growing shoal in the 65G lol

Have today moved the 5 black tetra's from the 15G tank (that's getting replaced) into the 65G 1 of the reasons was that they were stealing food from the Betta's mouth Sad

However I was able to deal with it by feeding the Betta via tweezers like I do with the ADF (leave my hand in tank to chase away would be thieves lol).  He actually quite likes being fed that way lol

cheers Netti Smiley

Tetra/ Betta combo works well, I've got 1 male betta, 5 glowlight tetras and 6 black neon tetras in an 8 gal tank (if I remember right)

Personally i think it will work in a 30gal tank... Its more then enough territory for a betta.
