Is there a special procedure for quarantining snails before adding them to a tank...Or is quarantining even neccessary with snails..I mean how can ya tell if a snail is sick or not? Or do snails just not carry bugs that are harmful to fish?

I love to hate Water Changes! :P

I've been told that snails don't carry infections that could transfer to fish; but I'm still a relative newbie. Would one of our experienced aquarists chime in?

I know some parasites can, but all the ones I know about is only applicable in ponds/ rivers because they spend time in a bird first.

Worst case scenario they can be a carrier, but assuming you purchase them from a system where there is no outbreak of an unfamiliar disease there should be no problems.

One day we shall live in glass boxes and fish shall be looking after us...
