I know no one has said anything in this thread for a bit..but I just wanted to say I signed up because of this thread!
So sorry to hear about your crayfish. Same thing happened to me yesterday.
I was at the pet store, and saw a crayfish being attacked by another in a tank, and when I checked him out, I realized he only had one right leg..and his left claw (its really small) and then the two "nubs" that I guess help him shove food in his mouth. So of course I had to take this little pathetic thing home...the others were going to kill him!
I had just set up my 20 gallon tank the night before, because I got some aquatic wood for my tank that I will be slowly adding to in the next couple of months. I figured since I wouldnt have fish for quite a bit (I want to get it nicely planted and decorated first)..that he could have this entire tank to himself!
He struggles to get around..but I had some sinking betta pellets that were the perfect size for his little claw and he seems to be eating them.
I hope he will grow his legs back soon..it really is sad!
So far so good though..we'll see!

Btw..his name is "Nubby" (of course!)..and I'm Nicole! =]

That story is pure awesomeness.

Thanks for joining.  Give Nubby a kiss for me (through the glass, no need to scare the poor guy into loosing his last leg!)
