Hi everyone!

I have 2 ADFs in a 6 gallon tank, they have been happy and healthy for around 6 months, the only problem is is Algae, the glass and gravel is covered in it! i give it a wipe every water change and it still grows back within a week! There are several live plants, a mini filter, lights are on a timer for 12 hours.

Now the question is shall i get a snail/algae eater to help clear it? reduce light? add more plants?

Thank every one Smiley

A Nerite snail would work for you.
More plants is always a good idea! happy
I would reduce your lighting to 8 hours a day though and keep the tank away from direct sunlight.

Ok great, the tank is nowhere near direct sunlight in all fairness it kind of tucked away in a corner.

will the snail just need the algae to eat or do they need extra food?

I was thinking more plants but its difficult to see the frogs as it is :P I might just add a few more at the back and see Smiley

Reduce lights to 8 hours max ( less is better) and get some Horned Nerites Snails..
Horned Nerites are amazing algae eaters..Probably the best I've come across..Because of them I never have to clean my glass and all the surfaces in my tanks are kept spotless..They just eat algae continuously..Oh and they don't reproduce in freshwater aquariums so no horrible snail outbreaks...

If they are Zebra "Nerites" they will be exactly what you need..
There are various types of Nerites..all are excellent algae eaters..
I suggested Horned Nerites because they are smaller and also my personal favourite
