If I have a 2x4 sheet of plastic eggcrate supported with PVC, How much weight could it support?

Eggcrate is very rigid and should be ok. If you are using PVC as the support legs underneath the eggcrate, then make sure you distribute the PVC to evenly cover the area under the eggcrate. How much weight?  That is kind of a relative question. A supporrted eggcrate sheet that is 2' x 4' should be able hold 100 lbs of material.
