I have kept a red tailed shark for 6 years and I have had no problem with it,I think all they need are plants and plenty of hiding places  I have kept it in a 130 litre tank and have no aggression from it at all the only thing I can say is only keep one per tank unless you have a tank in access of 200 litres and then you are better of keeping 3 than 2.

I can pretty much agree with that also. I would recommend a tank far in excess to a 200 liter for three. What other fish are kept with your Red Tail?

I have a single Rainbow Shark in a 240 litre along with Tetras, Barbs, Dwarf Cichlids, Dwarf Gouramis and Horned Nerite Snails and he/she is a model citizen..I agree that the secret is lots of cover and caves etc...

It has been personal experience with Rainbow Sharks is that they are even more 'touchy' than Red Tailed, I would have to make the same recommendations for them as with the Red Tails.
