Okay dumb question but does micro ferts (csm+b) add nitrates to a tank? Having a mini cycle started trying to keep nitrates down, but don't know if I should add micro ferts or not. Thanks

Well, I googled csm+b to see what is in it and there are no nitrates in it.  The way that we keep nitrates down is by doing regular water changes.  How often do you do water changes and how much is changed each time?

If you are having a mini cycle that means that you have either ammonia and/or nitrite readings and not nitrate.  What are those readings?

When in doubt, do a water change.

Are you using a commercial additive or Plantex and adding your Boron?

Aquatic plants make it better!

CSM+B does not have nitrates in it at all.

It is missing a source of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. It cannot provide these for your plants. You will have to add those nutrients separately if you are growing plants.
