So sorry to start like this " new member " but i have a new 4ft 300l tank which came with a " Hood filter " so i thought i would run a APS 1000EF ex filter with it, i went low end thinking both running would do the job but just fitted the ex and the hood filter wont close " its only a long length of foam anyway " but my feeling is that aps ex wont be up to the job, it was only 40, do you think i should get a better one if so which ? I'm ready to put the tank up on its cabinet " checked for leaks all good " and don't want to have to get it down again. Thank you

I'm a bit confused. The filter that you listed is a canister filter, but you said the tank has a hood filter? Is this your current filter? .............
