“Fish are friends!Not food!”

Ok I ran across this on Craigslist and while I admit I am massively fangirling over the idea of something like this;I also realize that the fish's health and safety comes first.Im wondering how healthy something like this is as far as a tank goes or is it like one of those self cleaning tanks in Walmart?:: insert eye roll::As they say looks can be deceiving so I thought I would turn to the experts!A fish tank and coffee table in one..And another curiousity..how the heck do they take a tank that is made to look like it's just a big picture frame in the wall and get it into place?do they have to hollow out the wall or what?

Novelty items and support equipment never works out favorably for the fish in 99.9% of the time.

I would suggest the problem isn't that they are inherently poor for fish as much as they are inherently difficult to work on and people tend to skip cleaning and water changes.

I would consider that major drawback to be that the fish are stressed from to much light and movement around their tank. Fish do need night, they have no eyelids so without it being dark, its not bed time.

An even worse idea

I bought a picture frame fish tank.It is beautiful and little but give the fish a good swimming area. My room seems more cozy than it actually is

Thanks for sharing! Hell, that guy's tank is awesome. This is a bit of challenge and it makes me want to build an aquarium myself.

Why don't you go through an old thread of mine - I converted an window into an aquarium.
