Hi. I have 1 blue and 2 golden 3 spot gouramis with 4 angel fishes. Lately 2 of the angels are suffering with tail and fin rot whom I have quarantined to treat with tetracycline. They are improving slowly but my blue gourami is being lethargic, doesn't eat, swims slowly with her mouth open all the time and also she appears to be probably blind as she doesn't respond to tapping over glass and misses the food pellets. Otherwise her tail and fins are okay.... What disease is this and what could be done to treat her. Please help.

Hi Dipesh,

When you look at the gourami's eyes, are they cloudy at all? I am suspecting you are dealing with columnaris in your tank, and it is affecting your gourami's cornea and mouth.
I have never treated for this disease, but have read that Maracyn and Maracyn II together are often used as treatment. Something about one medication treating the gram negative bacteria, whereas the other treats gram positive. You might want to look into that.

I'm linking here the disease identification page in case you haven't seen it yet: http://www.badmanstropicalfish.com/fish_palace/tropicalfish_disease_identification.html
