Hi!  New members today!  Feeling that we have found a lifeline for our underwater guests here  Wink

We have a planted 45 gallon tank with a submerged log that takes up space, so maybe 40 gallons is more apt.
We have the following for the last 4 months:
5 fancy male guppies
6 rosy danios
2 Yoyo loaches

Today we introduced 3 dwarf blue male gourami... the guppies and danios seem very nervous!  Any advice?

Wed like to add harlequin rasboras in a few weeks, wondering if 8 is too many?

Are we at our limit?

Thank you!!
Whoa. Where did I put all my stuff?

It is not that unusual for your established fish to get a bit excited over new additions. Chances are that the addition of the H. Rasboras will get the same response. The new additions of Rasboras should max out your bio load, but the selection you have, and will have is a pretty peaceful group. The gourami may get a bit feisty of each other, but the tank is large enough for the Gourami hierarchy to settle in.

Hello, 45 gallon aquarium is quite small but can house small fish like tetra, guppy and rasbora. go for them and make a community tank.
first, learn about the nitrogen cycle before adding fish.
