I have 3 syno's myself that I have problems
identifying. The three actually look quite different with one retaining
more spots and staying smaller than the other two. Yet I purchased them
as a group about 2 years ago. Some of the syno juvies look a bit different
than the adults, so the age of your fish will help id.
Opinion=I vote for the synodontis eupterus

Number 1: Looks like either some sort of lace cat, or "maybe" a
syn. Eupterus...hard to tell with that picture...if it IS a eupterus, its
an uglier one...but some may say they aren't the prettiest fish to begin
with (I really like 'em, no matter how ugly some people think they are).
Number 2: This looks kind of like a Syn. Schoutendenii (please excuse the
spelling, it may be wrong)
Number 3&4: Is that the same as picture 2? Its hard to tell, but I would
still retain my answer for #2.

That definitely looks like the synodontis catfish-I have one.
Mine looks similar to the pleclostomus, with the catfish tendrils on the
bottom of his mouth (these look similar to the "laces" of a snowflake).
His eyes look blue when the light hits them just right. Also has been
known to swim upside down, and likes to touch the other fish with his
tendrils. I love watching him. Enjoy.
