Very helpful staff BUT the place was in VERY bad shape. It was almost inhumane. The place smelled, the cages were dirty and the marine fish were very sick.

Adequate selection, helpful staff. However, 8 fish died within 24 hours. Was advised against fish in one tank due to "dying by the dozens". Two other fish did not survive 4 days. It seems they have significant problems with fish health.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the prices are much cheaper than other stores around here. I did have a problem with the fish I bought though, out of 20 feeders less than half survived the two weeks in the quarantine tank. At ten cents each I didnt care to get a refund I just wont purchase fish there anymore.

The staff are very nice. The fish are great health and stay alive great. They have all livebearers, goldfish, Bettas, and lots more.

I bought my betta fish here because they had a good selection and a helpful staff. He is still going strong a year later. I have now bought a 1 1/2 gallon fish bowl split for two betta. I like this pet store better than PetSmart because B&B has their bettas in clear water. Petsmart sells the bettas in blue tinted water which means you can't tell the real color of the fish!

- They have a large variety of fish, aquariums, supplies and animals.
- They do water testing for you free of charge.
- They only offer HALF of what you paid on any fish returns. Everywhere else gives you full credit during the return dates.
- I waited until they had 'two for tuesday' where you buy one and get a second for two cents I got home and realized they had charged me a dollar more for the second fish, NOT two cents when I called they told me the price must have changed I have been back and the price has NOT changed according to the sign above the fish yet they still wont give me the cash back-its no longer about the dollar its about principle.
- They told me my ferret was seriously underweight, was vomiting when they clipped its nails and needed to see a vet immediately, which I then went straight to the vet and my ferret was fine-just CAR SICK and not underweight. So I was out quite a bit on the vet bills due to the recommendation of someone who apparently didnt know what they were talking about.
- They charge a lot more for things than other pet stores in the area do.

The fish are OK, but I couldn't keep the one's alive that I bought there. The staff quality is not as good as Pets Supplies Plus. They are a corporation so I like Pet Supplies Plus better. They have saltwater and freshwater. You can also buy goldfish for your garden pond.

I am curious as to how old your listing is? When was the last time you were in the store? A lot of things have changed, and I am curious if you were the one that wrote the small synopsis of the shopping experience (were you the one visiting?). I've been a loyal customer of B&B Pet Stop since 1981 when they first opened and I don't understand how you can rate Pet Supplies Plus as a superior store. I have always found the staff at B&B to be much more knowledgeable than any other store in town and their selection of fish and aquarium supplies are unparalleled. The staff are so helpful and friendly that it's hard to just browse the store without someone asking you if you need help every 5 minutes. Hands down they are the best pet store in Mobile to me.

Store has a good selection of fresh water tropicals, and a knowledgeable staff. The manager is a specialist in dogs, owner is the specialist in fish and equipment. There is also a staff member who knows reptiles and raises show rats. Staff is friendly and seem to care about the customers needs.

The Fish that are in the store look healthy. But the people who work in the store are rude they are not friendly at all they never smile or say hey to you when you are shopping for your fish. They give you your fish and send you on your way.

The staff is amazing and they have a huge selection of supplies. I went to get snails for my tank because I've had a problem with another pet store not giving full refunds on dead fish and I knew they had a full refund policy. When I asked how much snails were they GAVE me about fifty of them. Not sold, just gave because they had so many. I will without a doubt continue to shop there.
