The store had a very small selection of fish- I did not see any marine species. When I asked for marine flake food at the counter I was offered freshwater tropical flakes. The store was very small and not very clean.

Very small and smells like cigarettes, since the staff smokes in the store. They stock mainly (only?) freshwater and the selection is limited. Was told "more is coming tomorrow", however many tanks were empty. Also have some reptiles, birds and rodents. None seem to be in good condition. Right around the corner from my house but I never go.

Awesome selection, 10 $.99 specials every week (good stuff too, like $5 plecos for $.99) Helpfull staff. Reasonable plant selection.

ANormal selection of regular tropical fish. Almost all tanks have dead fish, disease is common here. Casual walk past tanks saw fish w/ dropsey, fin and tail rot and ick in 3 of every 5 tanks. Staff is not knowlegeable about products or fish. Management is only staff that was helpful. Product is always out of stock. Typical for this area.

This is one of the best supply stores around. They have everything for the small hobbyist as well as supplies for the experienced and DIY. Largest selection of filtration, medication and tank supplies. Hundreds of tanks with a huge selection of fresh and saltwater fish inverts and plants. Staff is extremely helpful and most impressed with input and care from them. This is by far the best fish store I've visited in MA. I make the two hour trip 2 times monthly.

This store is great. Ned and Dan are two people who are almost always there along with a few other employees. This store has some of the hard to find stuff and some of the impossible to find stuff. It is clear that their fish selection is not just from one supplier. I find that my fish needs are not that great, but ALL of the fish and shrimp in my 75 gallon tank (aside from ottos) are from Uncle Ned's. It is definitely worth the drive from New Hampshire, I do it once a month at least.

Nice local fish store with a variety of typical and occasionally special marine and tropical fish. Have bought several dozen fish there with not one dying on me. Owner is knowledgeable, but always seems grumpy, so not usually in a helpful mood. Maybe he just isn't the talkative type, but that is not the best thing for a sales person. He has tanks with prices on them, but nothing in them is for sale. Of course these tanks always have something in them that you want. That can wear thin. Beautiful selection of koi, if that's your thing.

I found the store to be extremely clean and the owner very helpful. I purchased a fish tank set up, for my son, and some dog food. The owner spent a better part of an hour helping me with the wide variety of dog foods as my dog has allergies and guided my son to the appropriate fish for my tank. I highly recommend this store.

I was rudely asked to leave this store by the owner for browsing in the fish dept. for 20 minutes. The store was not crowded or near closing. The owner actually told me to buy something or get out. The staff there are some of the rudest I've ever encountered and not very knowledgeable or helpful with anything. Also they treat their animals horribly. They have a 10inch or so waterdragon in a 20 gallon tank with another lizard of around its size. The waterdragon has a deformed and sometimes bloody face from hitting it against the side of its tank. (Lizards often show this behavior if kept in too small a tank)

Went in there to browse after taking kids 3 and 6 into second-hand children's store in same strip mall. Found one adorable and very kid-friendly bunny and took him home. Staff was helpful, even saved us money with used cage. This was an impulse buy and we wrestled with all of the necessities, but staff helped in many small ways not just sale, but care too. They were unable to answer all of my Qs otherwise this would be EXCELLENT rating.
I've always found unusual (good) selection of pet foods, toys etc. for fish, cat and bunny. Chasing customers out isn't acceptable, and I'm stunned by the other post.

This is a rebuttal of sorts from the owner: Fish Frenzy Tropical Fish moved to Indian Orchard in May of 2005! The correct address 535 Main Street, Indian Orchard (SPRINGFIELD), MA 01151 The store does carry a lot of plants for freshwater planted tanks. There is an interesting selection of freshwater fish, especially fish suited for the planted aquarium. But the busiest department is the saltwater. There is a large selection of corals. The store also carries several types of live rock and a variety of "reefsafe" and "notreefsafe" marine fish.

The staff is what makes this store. I was just starting out and they helped me get the things I needed and steered me clear of the things that I didn't need. They sell out of fish quickly. They have a large amount of corals, live rock, and many supplies. Get there during the middle of the week in order to get the new stock. The store is still in organization chaos and it will sometimes take them a while to find what you need for supplies. Their prices are excellent.
