Excellent store. I've been buying my fish here for 8 years since I was 11.
The fish are always healthy. They carry a wide range of fish including guppies
(many different varieties), tetras, and salt water fish. The staff is on the
up with any info you need, and staff turnover is not high so you see the same
people working there for years at a time.

Great Little Local Store with a great selection of High quality supplies and
fish/reef etc... I really appreciate the health of the animals and the knowledge
of the staff, they are always happy to coach a person along in the hobby,
and they even have a small selection of fresh water fish and plants.

The Walmart in Port Orchard, Washington, is the IRAQ of the fish world. They
don't have a chance. They are dying so fast, they cannot even sell them. I
get so frustrated with their poor fish keeping. I have turned them in to the
local authorities but it is like a plant... no problem in the eyes of the
officials.

Those fish do not have a chance, I called and complained two years ago,
and they told me the distributor from Salt Lake City was at fault. I called
the SLC distributor and told him what was happening, he said they have only
clerks doing the fish dept. and have no idea how to take care of them. They
have dishes of salt in the tanks and the poor fish are on the way out. What
a waste of money and what a poor environment for the fish. I have called
again and lodged a complaint. I have boycotted the store until the fish
are removed from their inventory.

Bill has operated in Pullman for over 20 yrs. He has about 60 tanks with fish,
and various reptiles. He is generally present while the store is open. He
hires 2-3 additional staff, usually WSU students. Staff is knowledgeable and
helpful. All incoming fish are quarantined in a back room for one week before
being placed in display tanks.

There is a serious lack of supplies beyond food and meds and
what they do have is poorly organized. I was also very much concerned
by the fish health. Nearly everything is kept in 10-gallon tanks with
the exception of a 40-ish gallon tank with "Asst. Cichlids" of various
origins, several of which showed fin damage. The colors of their fish
are very poor, the most obvious is that their electric yellows are a
solid orange/brown. The worker also tried to sell me 2 male guppies as a
mating pair. They also have a 18" longfish in a 20" tank. At their
other store, Amazon Bay in Richland, I told the girl at the counter that
their Acanthurus leucosternon, which was labeled Paracanthurus hepatus
in a 10-gal with another tang, appeared to have velvet, to which she
sighed and went back to doing homework. At this store, all of their
efforts go into their display tanks and not the stock tanks.
