Common Name: Spiny Eel
Size: Up to 15 inches (38cm)
Habitat: Asia: Thailand, Malay Peninsula, Borneo and Indonesia.
Min Tank Size: 30 gallon.
Diet: Omnivorous, live preferred but will eat anything meaty.
Behavior: Peaceful, will eat smaller fish.
Water: Freshwater, Brackish pH 6.5 to 7.5, dH range 6-35º dH, temperature range of 75 to 83°F (20-28°C)
Note: Although sold as freshwater, they are really a brackish fish and will benefit from the addition of some marine salt.
Care: Easy once acclimated, but do require live food.
Communities: Good, do not keep with smaller fish.
Suitability: Good if you can meet their needs.
